Bail Decision Aid Research (Hedlund, 2007) Use of the Decision Aid in 357 cases resulted in: • Fewer FTA’s (17% Comparison group vs. 12 % for Decision Aid group) • More use of conditional release recommendations (21% for Comparison group vs. 64% for Decision Aid group) • More bail commissioner recommendations matching court orders (49% for Comparison group vs. 65% for Decision Aid group) • Lower percentage of cases held in pre-trial jails (43%% for Comparison group vs. 25% for Decision Aid group) State of Connecticut Judicial Branch Court Support Services Division
