  2. INTRODUCTION Most families are in shock by the sticker prices of colleges. While the tuition expense is getting overwhelming, grants could make higher education a ‘possible dream’ for those children who had quit dreaming of going to college due to a lack of income in the family. The 2022 survey reveals that for a typical family, grants are forms of college financial aid that are never required to be repaid. The federal government has specialized grants to provide to students wanting to attend career schools or colleges, but holding back due to low income in the family. Most grant types, unlike loans, are financial air sources that basically need not be repaid. College grants generally come from the federal and state government. Also, they are sometimes offered by a career school or college, a nonprofit organization, or a private organization. Do extensive research, and apply for any grants through “America’s Got Grants.” You might have to check your eligibility during the application process and be sure to meet the application deadline.

  3. Types of college grants • The U.S. Department of Education (ED) provides a range of federal grants to students, who want to attend four-year universities, career schools, or colleges. The following are the college grant programs for you to check and apply for accordingly. • Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) • Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants • Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grants • Federal Pell Grants • Grant eligibility

  4. The number of students attending colleges and receiving a grant is on the rise. The federal government has awarded over 30 billion dollars in-need-based grants. The latest figures show that over 63% of college undergraduates have received grants. The average amount of grants received by a college student in the USA is $7,400. Eligibility to receive a college grant differs. However, to qualify for federal college grants, the applicant must meet a few basic criteria below: Demonstrate financial need Must be a legal U.S. citizen Hold a legally valid SSN Be registered with Selective Service Be accepted or enrolled as a regular student in an eligible certificate or degree program Maintain suitable academic progress in career school or college Demonstrate that you are eligible to get a college education Most college grants are basically awarded only to students with financial needs. If you are considering obtaining one or more college grants, visit America’s Got Grants and check for your eligibility before you apply for one.
