  1. How to get rid of ingrown toenails

  2. The life is fast pacing in the City of London. An ingrown toenail can strike your life. Can you afford to stay at home in EC2? No way, you cannot just stay at home because of an ingrown toenail, although, this is difficult to avoid it because it is very painful and hurts when you wear shoes. You should consult a podiatrist in EC2before it makes your life hell.

  3. What is an ingrown toenail? Medically it is known as onychocryptosis. An ingrown toenail is the development of toenail on either side. It makes the nail curl and it pierces the surrounding skin due to which the skin becomes red and swollen. It hurts when you put pressure on the toe and that is how it makes difficult for you to walk. It is observed in big toenail more frequently than the other toes. It can affect on either side or on both sides of the nail.

  4. What kind of people can get an ingrown toenail? An ingrown toenail can affect all genders. Both men and women can suffer from this. They occur more in teenagers and old age peoples. During adolescent, feet sweat more and therefore skin surrounding the toenail becomes softer and it can split easily. The result of which is ingrown toenail. In older people, the toenail becomes thick and it becomes difficult to cut them. This puts pressure on the surrounding skin resulting in an ingrown toenail.

  5. Why ingrown toenail occurs? Ingrown toenails are likely to occur due to the following reasons: • If the nails are not correctly cut • If you wear tight fitting shoes or socks • If your feet sweat excessively • Poor hygiene • If you have an injury in nail or nail infection.

  6. How to treat ingrown toenails You can seek help from a podiatrist in EC2 to treat your ingrown toenail. If the condition is not severe and you do not want to visit a podiatrist in EC2, you can take care of it by yourself. You need to do the following things to avoid ingrown toenail: • Prevention is better than cure. You should take care of your feet by washing them with soap and water daily.

  7. You should trim your nails so that they do not cut deep into your skin. • You should push the skin around the nail away from the nail. You can use a cotton bud to do this. Using olive oil helps soften the skin. • Do not wear tight shoes so that there is some space left around your toes. • An ingrown toenail is very painful. You can take a painkiller to avoid the pain.

  8. If you have tried all the self-care treatments and still the condition is getting worse, you should immediately visit a podiatrist in EC2. They are the professionals and can treat you well. If the condition is severe, the podiatrist in EC2 will suggest the surgery to prevent your toe from infection.
