Alloy steel is a product of metallic bonding of steel with a variety of elements to improve its structural and mechanical properties. The elements bonded are steel in total amounts between 1% to 50%.

Alloy Steel Alloy steels are bonded with alloying elements in varying proportions to improve its properties. Alloy steels are harder, stronger, and more corrosion resistant and contain other properties of the bonded elements.
Tool Steel • These steels are highly heat resistant and durable making them perfect tools and drilling equipment. They can be classified by their shapes into: • Long/ tubular products – like bars, rods and pipes • Flat products - like plates, sheets and strips • Other products – like valves, flanges and fittings.
Stainless Steel • Stainless steels contain 10 – 20% chromium and are highly corrosion resistant. They can be classified into • Austenitic – non-magnetic and non-heat treatable (kitchen equipment) • Ferritic – magnetic but cannot be treated with heat. • Martensitic - Magnetic and heat treatable steels (cutting tools, surgical and dental equipment)
