  1. What is Pyrolytic Cleaning?

  2. Cleaning the oven is a chore that nobody likes to do. It can seem to take forever, often includes the use of harsh chemicals, and it also puts a strain on your body while you try to reach every corner. Thankfully, there is a solution. Falcon has included pyrolytic cleaning in one of its oven models, which is a life-changing feature for anyone who wants an easier way to clean their oven. We're often asked at Falcon, what is pyrolytic cleaning? Pyrolytic cleaning uses oven temperatures of 450 degrees upwards to incinerate any food scraps or food residue. When you set the oven to self-cleaning mode, the cavity heats to more than 450 degrees. At that temperature food and fat deposits turn to ash. This can then be simply wiped out once the oven has cooled down. This is beneficial because it saves on cleaning and no harsh chemicals are required. Moreover, you no longer have to worry about getting down on your hands and knees and scrubbing the oven walls for hours.

  3. With temperatures so high, it can be easy to think that the pyrolytic cleaning process can heat up your kitchen. But due to added layers of insulation and the use of 4 layers of safety glass in the door, you don’t notice any increase in room temperature and the oven door will only be as hot as a normal oven. The oven door locks automatically, so you don’t need to worry about your little ones opening the door and burning themselves. Additionally, there is no smoke, and no fumes that leak outside the oven door. The pyrolytic cleaning process takes between two to four hours and uses minimal energy. With no need for those nasty cleaning sprays and no strain on your body, it’s definitely an oven feature worth having.

  4. Falcon National Brand Manager Joanne Edwards explains what pyrolytic cleaning is in Falcon ovens and the benefits it brings.
