  1. How does sperm get washed 1.Sperm is produced in the testes and stored in the epididymis. 2. Semen is formed from sperm mixed with fluids from the prostate gland and other reproductive organs. 3. Semen is expelled from the body through the urethra after ejaculation. 4. Semen is placed in a special media solution to separate sperm from other components. 5. Sperm is collected from the media solution through centrifugation. 6.Non-sperm cells are removed from the top during centrifugation, while sperm cells settle to the bottom. 7. Washed sperm is stored in a media solution until ready for use in assisted reproductive techniques. 8. Sperm is washed again in a media solution to remove any remaining contaminants. 9. Washed sperm can be used to fertilize an egg through methods such as ICSI or IVF.
