Merit-Based Scholarships These scholarships are given to students on the basis of their academic performance, talent or any other criteria. Merit-based scholarships have high competition ratio and demand students to have impressive academic records along with commendable co-curricular activities or outstanding talent in a particular field such as sports, arts or leadership. 2.
