  1. What are Square Beveled Washer? Square Beveled Washers provide a unique and necessary function in structural bolting. In the vast majority of all fastening applications, the bearing surfaces of the mated components are parallel to one another, making the seating of the fastening components level and solid. However, in many structural bolting applications, the structural channels and beams provide bearing surfaces lacking parallelism to their mated bolts. The angled bearing surface of the Square Beveled Washer allows the bolt and structural surface to be in parallel, thus providing the firm seating required in these high strength applications. They are supplied in plain finish, electro-zinc, and hot dipped galvanized. Manufacturer of Fasteners Types of Square Washers Square Plate Washers Square Washers called construction square plate washers can be used instead of round washer for applications such as timber building and concrete floors; they are used with all fasteners for larger load distribution and bolting through a wall or timber. While disc washers operate solely as load distributors, square flat washers serve a second role. Their thick metal forms have that standard bolt opening in the center, plus a wide surface area, a feature that spreads torque and head load, but they also perform as shims. That means the bolt crown can be lifted away from the anchored part. It also means that a multi surface project won't deform or bend when the fastener is tightened. Malleable Iron Bevel Washers Bevel washers are square or rectangular washers with a beveled 1 to 6 ratio surface. Malleable iron bevel washers are used with American standard beams and channels in structural applications, to compensate for lack of parallelism. For bevel washers to be used with A325 and A490 structural bolts, please see F436 bevel washers. ASTM F436 Bevel Washers F436 thru hardened bevel washers are square or rectangular washers with a beveled 1 to 6 ratio surface. F436 Bevel Washers are larger than Malleable Bevel Washers. For use with American standard beams and channels to compensate for lack of parallelism. F436 bevel washers are designed for structural applications and are commonly used with ASTM F3125 Grade A325 and Grade A490 fasteners. +91 83690 74984 | sales@anankafasteners.com | https://anankafasteners.com/

  2. European Fastener Standards How Beveled Washers Work? Beveled washers are designed to distribute the load of a fastener. All fasteners will apply a load to the objects in which they are installed. When you drive a bolt into an object, for instance, the bolt’s head will press against the surface of the object. Over time, this may lead to damage. The object may crack, warp or otherwise sustain damage around the area of the fastener’s head. Beveled washers protect objects from damage by distributing the load of fasteners. Beveled washers increase the surface area of the fastener’s load, thus protecting objects from damage. Some fastening applications may require the use of beveled washers. All beveled washers are angled. An angled design is essentially what distinguishes them from most other types of washers. Structural beams may require beveled washers. If a structural beam is angled, an angled washer must be used to secure it. Beveled washers are angled. They can be used to secure angled structured beams. For applications involving angled beams, square-shaped bevel washers are used. What Materials can Beveled Washers be Made From? Beveled washers can come in a variety of materials – from metals to rubbers and thermoplastics. For structural and load-bearing applications, beveled washers are commonly made from metals. Oftentimes, these metal beveled washers will also be surface treated so they can be used outdoors and have a high degree of environmental resistance. Some common metals and coatings used for beveled washers are listed below: * Plain iron * Hot-dipped galvanized steel * 304 stainless steel * 316 stainless steel Flat Washer vs. Beveled Washer Flat washers are the most used type of washer used with bolt and screw fasteners. They are used to distribute the preload exerted by the bolt or screw head over the surface of the fastened part. Additionally, flat washers help reduce bolt spin-out due to vibrations. Beveled washers are designed to do everything flat washers can but also are used for mating non-parallel, flat surfaces. +91 83690 74984 | sales@anankafasteners.com | https://anankafasteners.com/
