5. CQS – A Framework for School Improvement • Step 1 – Complete the CQS for your school • Step 2 – Choose 1 strand to target as part of whole school development • Step 3 – Set specific targets and create an action plan

6. Our Project • We chose 1 element of the CQS where both of our schools were at the ‘developing’ stage • We engaged in focus planning sessions and brainstormed ideas on how to move towards ‘exemplary’ in our schools • We set achievable targets and embraced a ‘whole school approach’

7. Card Sort • In order for us to proceed with our project we needed to be able to distinguish between developing and exemplary practice • Are you confident with the main differences? • Can you sort the statements into developing and exemplary?

8. Classroom Practice • Following completion of the CQS audit we decided to focus on Element 2 of the CQS ‘Development of Learning’ • We would like to share some of the experiences and changes we initiated in our schools, in response to our targets
