WHAT IS A NOUN? • The NOUN is a word that names something. • They are names for persons, animals, places, objects, substances, qualities, actions, measures of time or quantity which can be pointed out, recognized and called a name. • It is the word that tells, what you are talking about.

When trying to find a NOUN, ask yourself this: • Is it a person? • Is it a place ? • Is it an animal? • Is it a thing? • Is it a quality? • Is it an idea? If the answer is yes for anyone of these question, then the word is a NOUN.
