The Stanley Hotel (Estes Park, CO) - This hotel inspired Stephen King's novel "The Shining" after he stayed in room 217. Guests have reported seeing ghosts in the ballroom and hearing children playing in the halls. 3. The Amityville Horror House (Amityville, NY) - Site of a tragic mass murder, this house is said to be a portal for demons. Subsequent residents reported paranormal activity including visions of the murdered family members. 4.
