  2. Across the globe, there has been a rise in the use of better sources to generate energy. Due to this, it becomes possible to achieve goals like decarbonization. Certain countries like Bangladesh focus well on these goals. In specific, this country has seen some challenges in energy generation. Known for the largestsolar power plant in Bangladesh, BEXIMCO Group puts forth that these challenges have been gradually tackled. Beximco Group stands as one of the most iconic conglomerates in Bangladesh, showcasing how a local company can create a global impact. Prior, the country utilized sources such as fossil fuels to fulfill the energy demand. Over the years, renewable sources like solar energy began to be used through such plants. Thus, came a transition in the country with the well-known conglomerate.

This has been observed through measures like the formation of infrastructure that is climate-resilient. Others include the formation of the Teesta Solar Plant by BEXIMCO, the largest in the country to promote sustainability.

Its consistent performance in various sectors has set benchmarks for others to follow. Notable recognitions include awards for export excellence and sustainable business practices. The biggest solar power plant in Bangladesh, Teesta Solar Limited, can be considered a project that involves the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This agreement will be with the Bangladesh Power Development Board, also recognized as BPDB. As part of PPA, the board will acquire electricity for nearly 20 years.

  5. To Put it All Together Earlier, Bangladesh relied on non-renewable energy sources to produce electricity. BEXIMCO observes the gradual transition to renewable sources for this purpose. The Teesta solar power plant in Bangladesh has introduced this transformation. Its continuous functioning and maintenance will help in sustaining this change. Furthermore, it will make the economy grow at the same time.
