  2. Treadwear Rating The term "treadwear" describes how long it takes for a tyre to degrade. Treadwear ratings are based on road tests where the test tyres are run in a vehicle convoy alongside a standardized course monitoring control tyre. Following the test, manufacturers rate the tyres based on their findings in relation to the standardized control tyre. All tyres are compared to the control tyre, which is graded at 100. This means that, for instance, a tyre with a grade of 300 will last three times longer than the control tyre before it wears out.

  3. 4wd Tyre Ratings Markings called the Uniform Tyre Quality Grading (UTQG) are applied to the sidewall of your tyre. They indicate treadwear, traction and temperature to help you compare 4×4 tyres and choose the best one for you and your needs.

  4. Temperature Rating This rating reveals how much heat is generated and expelled from the tire's carcass. Knowing the temperature grade of your tyre can be important especially when you are driving long distances in hot weather. A tire's ability to withstand heat over an extended length of time may be compromised, which could finally result in a blowout. The temperature rating, which is categorized from highest to lowest in A, B, or C, demonstrates how well a tyre resists heat.

  5. Traction Grades Grading for traction is based on how well a tyre can slide across a test surface while maintaining straight-line wet traction. The traction rating of UTQG does not account for hydroplane resistance, dry braking, dry cornering, or wet cornering. The tyres on a skid trailer's axle are modified, and the coefficient of friction is checked after braking at 64 km/h to determine the traction grades. The grades of treadwear tyres are A, B, and C, with AA being the highest performing.
