Black Tie Events Black Tie Events’ Mark Girdwood was there when it all started in the mid 70’s, DJing the inner Melbourne Pubs and Clubs after taking a break from his audio career at HSV 7, where he'd been working on variety TV shows and drama. In the early 80s, Mark branched into commercial radio broadening his skills working both on air and programming music.
