  1. Different types of insulation methods- insulationmachines.net An energy efficient home is very important, and for this, it is better to insulate your home, and you should also be aware of the different types of insulation methods which can be used to insulate your home. Each method has its pros and cons and according to the area where you want to install insulation, you should choose a method. Insulation reduces the amount of heat, which enters your home when outer temperature is high and also the amount of heat which gets transferred from inside to outside, when outer temperature is very low. Amount of insulation provided by insulation material is determined by material’s R-value. Higher R-value insulation material is better for your home and hence energy efficiency of home will be better.

  2. Methods of insulation First method of insulation is blown-in insulation, and insulation material is installed by insulation blower, and this machine blows or sprays the material into the space where insulation is being done. This method is suitable for the places like attics, crawl spaces and odd-shaped areas. Second method is batt insulation, and in this method a blanket of fiberglass, cellulose or mineral wool is constructed. This method does not require insulation machine, and you can do it by yourself. Insulation materials in the form of batt are designed, so that it can be fitted into wall studs, and floor joists. Third method is spray foam insulation, this insulation is made of liquid latex or polyurethane foam. This is used to fill the gaps and cavities and after spraying, material expands and then hardens. Other methods of insulation are, foam board insulation, vapor barrier insulation, and radiant barrier insulation. Comparison of Blown-in insulation and spray foam insulation Comparison of both the methods can be done on basis of price, longevity, versatility. Blown-in insulation is done by using insulation blowing machine, and in many cases price for both the methods is comparable. Insulation hose reel may be needed in case when blowing machine cannot be taken near to the place, where insulation is to be done, and hose length should be increased. Longevity point of view, spray foam insulation lasts longer than blown-in insulation, it also depends on installation process. Spray foam insulation and blown-in insulation, both the methods are versatile and can be used to fill any space or gap of the house.
