  1. Try the popular boba drinks at cafes Boba is a drink that has become quite popular all over the world in recent years. They are many cafes, and bubble tea places that are coming up in different cities, and towns as people are getting more interested in trying out new drinks. Yes, boba is their new favourite! Most people already know that all the popular boba drinks come with some chewy bubbles at the bottom of the glass. These bubbles are called tapioca pearls, and they are a unique addition to the boba drinks. In the East, it is popular by the name of bubble tea while at the West, it is known as boba tea. Now, these tapioca pearls are made from tapioca starch or cassava, and they are made into small speres. As they are made of starch, they are mostly gluten-free. If one needs to make these pearls sweet, they need to soak them well in sugar syrup for a few hours. One can add these pearls in both milk tea, and black tea. Milk bubble tea is made from powdered or fresh milk, and those sweetened bubbles are added to it. One can also add this bubble in a coffee, a smoothie or in green tea as well! Now these boba pearls have started being added in different drinks that come in different flavours and sizes. In case of iced tea one drinks the tea with a straw, and at last they can gulp down the bubbles. How Boba drinks are made? Boba drink has originated in Taiwan during the 80’s, and slowly they got popular, and spread to the West – mostly U.S. From 90s, it also started becoming popular in other eastern countries like Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, and India. The best part of the boba or bubble drinks is the tapioca pearls. They are quite unique to the drink, and they are made from a dough-like consistency. One can add flavours like vanilla, caramel, brown sugar syrup or more to make them tastier, and sweeter. One needs to add starch to the boiling water to make these pearls. What does Boba taste like? If one asks any tea expert – a good boba drink must have nice pearls that can give a good chew at the end. These chews are needed to be soft but they cannot melt immediately into the mouth. One can dip the pearls into any syrup depending on what flavour one wants. The popular flavours of tapioca pearls are matcha, honeydew, strawberry, blueberry, honey, orange, taro and more. Tapioca Boba is a common drink that is found in most café boba menu. The drink is made of milk, tea leaf, and served with flavoured tapioca balls. One can add tapioca balls in both hot and iced tea. Apart from regular boba drinks, there is popping boba which is mostly fruit-based. They come with different kinds of toppings, and they also taste very delicious. All the pearls that are used in boba drinks are edible, and one can make the tea sweeter by adding some sweetener.
