  1. Principles of Internet of Things Principles of Internet of Things Internet of Things (IOT) is very new in concept and development. The concept is first proposed by MIT in 1999 and later extended by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in the “World Summit of the Information Society” in 2005. Despite of its immense potentiality, IOT is not given enough attention until a few years ago when Chinese and U.S. leaders put focus on its development. Internet of Things, also known as Sensing Network is a kind of system that manages and controls network. The connection of different objects with each other is made through installation of various types of information sensing equipment such as, infrared sensors, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), GPS, laser scanners and other devices. A massive intelligent network is formed joining with mobile telecom networks or Internet. This helps to realize management on objects. The IOT framework is consisted of three layers: a) sensing layer, b) network layer, and c) application layer. IOT is beneficial for different reasons- it increases economic benefits, saves costs, as well as provides technical power to help global economic recovery. Key Principles of IOT: 1.Internet of Things is an integrated application that utilizes present information technologies, such as integrated circuit (IC), sensor technology, high end computation, automation, data communication, information processing and security. 2.In the IOT, objects can communicate with one another without any human intervention. 3.The IOT industrial chain can be divided into four sections: a) identity, b) sensing, c) processing, and d) information transmission. The fundamental technologies of each section are- a) RFID, b) sensor, c) intelligent chip, and d) wireless telecom network. 4.There are three key technologies of IOT- a) Terminal Sensing, b) Network Connection, and c) Background Computation. Terminal sensing is the fundamental of all three. 5.The general system of IOT has two sub-systems: a) RFID and b) Information Network System. RFID mainly has tag and reader that communicates through RFID air interface. After obtaining the sign of product, the reader sends it to the middleware of the information network system via Internet or other channels of communication.

  2. 6.Then the names of the object are obtained through Object Naming Service (ONS). Different services regarding the product information are obtained through Electronic Product Code (EPC) interfaces. 7.The entire system of Internet, varieties of communication protocols, and description languages helps the operation of the whole system. Fig: Key Principles of IOT To sum up, IOT is the net product of various physical product information services, which are based on construction of Internet.
