  1. 5 Suggestions to Consider Before Starting your Akvarel Painting Akvarel enable any artist to create a compelling and purposeful composition of art. These water-soluble colors are considered to be a most flexible and versatile type of art colors. Akvarel are also known with the name Aquarelle. These paints are created with two major components, pigments and bonding medium. The pigments in the akvarel can be of an inorganic or organic type. Inorganic pigments consist of metals and are mostly collected from earth. Their examples are umbers, ochres, and siennas. These are further developed in laboratories, colors such as cadmium yellow and cobalt blue are some examples. On the other hand, organic pigments are natural akvarel as they consist of carbon. This carbon is acquired either from living matters or is created synthetically. For instance, Indian yellow and indigo color were obtained from plants and Carmine was extracted from dried insects. Though in modern times, most of the natural pigments are now replaced by synthetic ones. The second vital component of any akvarel is the binding medium. In case of akvarel, the bonding medium is either a synthetic compound or a natural gum. Here are some notable suggestions that would support you in acquiring some helpful directions to paint with akvarel: Purchase Paper Designed for Akvarel Akvarel are different from any other paints. They demand some genuine quality paper for rendering the desired outcomes from the painting. There are papers available in the market which are mostly intended for akvarel paintings only thus they must be preferred. Sketch as Light as Possible Akvarel provides a thin layer of color on a paper or sheet. This becomes one of the reasons why anyone should sketch as light as possible. The marks with the hard pencil are likely to be visible even after you apply akvarel to the paper and this can ruin the painting too. Removing any extra pencil marks and dark marks with a clean eraser after you are done with the sketching would help avoid any such issues. Move with Patience, Let a Layer Dry Akvarel paintings are built with patience. If you look at some of the great works of akvarel paintings, you would understand that it must have demanded a lot of patience for the artists to create it. It is, therefore necessary for the first layer of color to dry before you apply the next one, doing this would reactivate the colors in the painting. (Avoid all of this if you are creating a wet-on-wet effect in your painting). Clean up Between Colors Paintings are all about correct and specific colors. To achieve such perfection, most painters purchase many brushes for their paintings but then they become lazy in cleaning those brushes. If you use the same brush for completing a single painting, then make sure you rinse the brush well in water to avoid the muddiness in your painting. Water Replacement Water soluble paints require water while painting and being lazy in replacing your water would ruin your art for sure. Usage of same water can mix the color coats on brush and would not render the required shade of color on painting. To avoid such situation, you can begin painting by keeping several small cups of water around so that you don’t have to fill new water every time.
