Follow Child marriage is a major problem in India. According to the 2011 Census, every year about 15 million young girls get married before they are of legal age. The effects of child marriage last a lifetime, but girls suffer the most and in the most overwhelming ways.  Following User not following anyone yet. Child Marriage Increases Adult Illiteracy In India, girls' education is still not given adequate priority. Due to gender inequality, poverty, and illiteracy in the family, many young girls either drop out of school or are not encouraged to pursue an education at all. Early marriage reduces a girl's chances of finishing school since her family expects her to take care of her husband, his family, and domestic duties.  Child Marriage Affects Health No matter their age when they get married, women are under pressure from society to start bearing children, even in the case of young brides thus resulting in early motherhood. Young brides and their bodies suffer in more ways than one when they go through the excruciating process of pregnancy. Several young brides experience varied difficulties during pregnancy and the number of young mothers who pass away during childbirth is concerning. Under such circumstances, the health of young mothers and their newborns is at risk.  Child Marriage Deteriorates Physical And Emotional Stability Young girls in India, particularly in the rural belts, face limited freedom. They are also deprived of autonomy and face innumerable overwhelming circumstances - physically, mentally, and emotionally.
