The automotive industry in India is currently undergoing a significant transformation, with the rise in demand for hybrid vehicles. The improved efficiency and seamless performance of an hybrid cars is much loved in the country. Various manufacturers including KIA, Toyota and Tata Motors are planning to launch new hybrid vehicles in 2023.
Nissan X-Trail Nissan Motor India had recently showcased the All New X-Trail in India alongside the Juke and Qashqai SUVs. The automaker is already testing the X-Trail in the country, and is likely to launch it as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) by the 2023 festive season. Expect the SUV to be priced upwards of Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom). Rivals to the SUV include the likes of the Škoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian in its segment.
Next-Gen Maruti Suzuki SwiftMaruti is going all in with hybrids in India following the success of the Grand Vitara. Slated to launch by the end of 2023 or early 2024, the Next-Generation Swift too is expected to be offered with a strong-hybrid powertrain alongside the petrol engine.
Maruti Suzuki C-Segment MPVThe homegrown automaker is also believed to be developing a new C-segment MPV that will sit above the Ertiga and XL6. Sold exclusively through Maruti’s NEXA dealerships, it will be similar to the recently launched Innova Hycross but will feature distinctive styling. However, the new MPV will likely share internals and powertrain options with the Toyota.
Honda Compact SUV Honda Car India is planning to launch a new subcompact SUV in the Indian market by the end of 2023. Based on the Amaze’s platform, it will be sub-4-metres in length. When launched, the four-wheeler will compete against the likes of the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, and Maruti Brezza in its segment. Original source
