APerfectVacationinGrandCayman KnownforitsbreathtakingunderwatersceneryandthefamedSevenMileBeach,GrandCaymanofferseverythingnecessaryfortheperfectbeachvacation.OurluxuriousresidencesaresituatedinaquietprivateenclaveonthegroundsofTheRitz-Carlton,GrandCayman,offeringeasyaccesstoworld-classresortamenitiesandtheisland’slegendarybeach.AndsinceouroutstandingOnsite Conciergeteamisalwaysonhandtoarrangeeverydetailofyourstay,yourtimeinthisidyllictropicalparadiseissuretobenothingshortofabsolutelyperfect. GRANDCAYMANITINERARY MONDAYēOurchauffeurmetusattheairportandwhiskedusouttoourprivatecar,wherewesettledintoenjoyourfirstglimpseoftheisland.UponarrivingatthegatedExclusiveResortsenclave,weweregreetedbythefriendlystaffandshowntoourresidencebyourOnsiteConcierge.Oncewehadunpacked,weraidedthefullystockedfridgeforsnacksandsometropicalfruitjuiceandthenheadedoutbackforadipinourprivatepoolandanafternoonspentloungingonourprivateterrace.

TUESDAYēWeawokeanxioustogettothebeach,soweloadedupourgolfcartwiththenecessaryiPods,iPads,Kindles,andsunblock.Westoppedforagourmetbreakfastat7,oneoftheresort’smanyrestaurants,andthenmadeourwaytotheluxuriousprivatebeachcabanathatourOnsiteConciergehadreservedforus.Ofcourse,insteadofsettlinginforalazymorningsunbathingandreading,wedonnedtheprovidedsnorkelingequipmentandimmediatelysetouttoexplorethereefjustoff-shore.Itwasworthitthough—oursoncouldn’tbelievehowcolorfulthefishwere,andourdaughterwasparticularlyexcitedtofindaplayfulseaturtle.TUESDAYēWeawokeanxioustogettothebeach,soweloadedupourgolfcartwiththenecessaryiPods,iPads,Kindles,andsunblock.Westoppedforagourmetbreakfastat7,oneoftheresort’smanyrestaurants,andthenmadeourwaytotheluxuriousprivatebeachcabanathatourOnsiteConciergehadreservedforus.Ofcourse,insteadofsettlinginforalazymorningsunbathingandreading,wedonnedtheprovidedsnorkelingequipmentandimmediatelysetouttoexplorethereefjustoff-shore.Itwasworthitthough—oursoncouldn’tbelievehowcolorfulthefishwere,andourdaughterwasparticularlyexcitedtofindaplayfulseaturtle. WEDNESDAYēEvenafterhoursatthebeachthedaybefore,wehadn’tgottenenoughoftheturquoisewaterandcolorfulsealife,soourOnsiteConciergerecommended avisittoStingrayCity.Hand-feedingstingraysinthewild,snorkelingoverareefontheisland’sbayside,andenjoyingaleisurelycatamaransailprovidedquiteenoughexcitementforoneday,sowespenttherestofthedayunwindingbackatourresidencewithcocktailsbythepoolandadecadentdinnerpreparedbyaprivatechef.Thechefevenmadenon-alcoholicsmoothiesforthekids,sotheycouldenjoy“cocktails”too! FRIDAYēWeleftthekidswithanannyforthemorningandsnuckoutforaquick9holesontheresort’sGregNorman-designedBlueTipgolfcourse.Wecouldseeourresidencefromacoupleofthegreens,andfromthecannonballcompetitiongoingoninthepool,weknewthekidswerehavingasmuchfunaswewere.Thatafternoon,wedecidedtoheadupthecoasttovisittheCaymanTurtleFarm.Thiswasquitepossiblythekids’favoritepartofthewholevacation—theygottoholdyearlingturtles,chasetropicalbutterfliesalonganaturetrail,snorkelinaprotectedlagoon,andevenwatchthestaffhand-feednursesharks.Althoughnoneofuswantedtoleavethefarm,weeventuallymadeourwaybacktoTheRitz-CarltonjusttimeforadeliciousdinneratPeriwinkleandtheresort’soutdoorfamilymovienight. THURSDAYēWedecidedwewantedtospendawhileenjoyingtheluxuriousprivacyofourresidence,sowepreparedadeliciousbreakfasttogetherandplayedinourprivate poolduringthemorning.Wetookabreakfromthemid-dayCaribbeansun,cuddlingupwithsomepopcornanda familymoviebeforedroppingoffthekidsattheJean-MichelCousteau’sAmbassadorsoftheEnvironmentchildren’sprogram.Andwhilethekidsenjoyedawell-supervisedtriptotheQueenElizabethIIBotanicParktoseerareblueiguanas,wewerefreetoindulgeinanafternoonattheresort’saward-winningSilverRain,aLaPrairieSpa.
