It is now necessary to communicate a Standard Written Order (SWO) to supplier before charging any durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies billing DMEPOS items. Prior to implementation of this new update requiring a SWO, a Detailed Written Order (DWO) was required.
