  1. SEO This Week Ep11 – Fake News, Influential Women, Paid Media olympiaseo.com/seo-week-ep11/ 11/21/2016 by Clint Butler Google and Facebook Take Aim at Fake News Sites 1/7

  2. Google kicked off the action on Monday afternoon when the Silicon Valley search giant said it would ban websites that peddle fake news from using its online advertising service. Read More Our Insights: I find it interesting that major media outlets that blatantly tried to influence the election with an obvious bias reporting strategy are now taking aim at fake news sites. What is more interesting is that the public is actually calling for corporations to censor what they see on the internet. If these very same corporations did that with the major news media there would be lawsuits for years. I think that the major media and corporations need to stay out of what people read on the internet, it is not their job to filter it, it is a personal responsibility. All of that said, if Google and FaceBook are only saying that they will no longer allow paid advertisers who are promoting these sites, then I can understand and believe that is within their full right. Your Filter Bubble is Destroying Democracy 2/7

  3. Opinion: Rarely will our Facebook comfort zones expose us to opposing views, and as a result, we eventually become victims to our own biases. Read More Our Insights: I wanted to put this article up only because the topic directly relates to the one above. It shows how the algorithms put in place by FaceBook to make your news feed more about what you want to read may be influencing your perspectives and reinforcing ideas. It does go a bit off the rails and suggests that the election would not have turned out the way it did if just more people saw how good Hillary is, but that is for a political blog to say. I will say that this is a clear example of how major “official” news media is worked to influence an election through “editorial” content, yet somehow others doing it is somehow bad. 50 Influential Women in Digital Marketing: North Stars & Rising Stars 3/7

  4. Having people that we can look to for guidance and inspiration is an incredibly important part of our professional development. In this post, I would like to shine a light on some incredibly talented inspirational marketers that are making moves and serving as a shining example for other digital marketers. Read More Our Insights: Search engine optimization draws in quite the collection of people. When you add in the other forms of marketing to the mix, that group is really diverse. However, I think I can count on two hands, minus a couple fingers, the female influencers that are often cited when it comes to marketing. Quite frankly, I think it is a shame because more often than not, the ladies are a lot more successful than men because they don’t allow ego (most of the time) to influence their decisions. This list is a great list for ANY digital marketer to read and perhaps make some connections with some great people. Using Paid Media to Drive Loyalty & Advocacy – Whiteboard Friday 4/7

  5. Hi, my name’s Samantha Noble, and I’m the Director of Strategy over at Koozai in the UK. First and foremost is retargeting. This video is great in talking with you about retargeting, brand advocacy, keeping in the top of mind of both the people who have visited your site. You can also use this same method to talk to your previous customers to gain more referrals. I would encourage you to watch this video, and if you only have time for one, this is it. 25 E-commerce Experts Share Their Best Tips for Driving Repeat Sales Online 5/7
