  4. PINUS CONTORTA - LODGEPOLE PINES & SHORE PINES Pinus contorta, also known as lodgepole pine, is a species of pine that is native to western North America. The tree is characterized by its slender, conical shape and dark green needles. Pinus contorta grows in a variety of habitats, from mountainous regions to coastal forests.

  5. The hedge is an important source of timber for the lumber industry, and its wood is often used in construction and furniture-making. In addition, Pinus contorta is an important food source for many animals, including birds, squirrels, and deer. The hedge is also a popular choice for landscaping and has been introduced to other parts of the world, where it is now considered an invasive species.

  6. VARIETIES OF AND SHORE PINE LODGEPOLE PINE Lodgepole pine and Shore Pine are two of the most common varieties of Pinus contorta.
