SWIMMING POOL MAINTENANCE HOW TO KEEP YOUR POOL CLEAN CHECK POOL CHEMISTRY Check pool chemicals once or twice a week in summer, and once every week or two in winters. Control pH between 7.2 – 7.6, 7.4 is optimum number. Ideally Chlorine should be between 1.0 and 3.0 parts per million (ppm). CHECK YOUR WATER LEVEL Your water level needs to be right at the center of your pool skimmer or pool tile for optimal results and performance. If it is low, it can run the pump dry and burn it up, or if too high, the skimmer door will not work properly. CHECK CHLORINATOR If you have a deck chlor or inline chlorinator these need to be regularly checked for proper chlorine tablet levels, loading, or possible clogging. CLEAN POOL FILTERS Regularly cleaning of filter is necessary for maximum flow rates and minimum wastage get crystal clean water. They may need to be cleaned after a heavy storm or once every few months depending on conditions in your pool. CHECK THE CHLORINE GENERATOR If you have saltwater pool or a no-chlorine pool, you need Electrolytic Chlorine Generators (ECGs), or salt water chlorinators. The chlorine generator cell must be cleaned but not too frequently. Maintain salt level between 2700-3900 ppm.
