Blog: Custompromotionalrulers.com RULERS –A MEMORY FROM EVERY CHILD’S SCHOOL DAYS! ‘Bring me the ruler’ is one roar that every child remembers, reverberating through the corridors of the school building. Maths class was never complete without it, not to mention special skills courses like carpentry where accurate measurement was one of the most important factors. You cannot help but wonder what you would have done without the long ruler or steel ruler in your toolkit! The basic ruler is available in two sizes of 1 foot and half a foot. It is the one possession as a kid, we are proud of and it forms part of the first pencil-box that we take to school. Many fancy ones are available in the market, causing kids these days to never be satisfied with the one bought last. Rulers for school kids are basically manufactured in three materials being wood, steel and plastic. The plastic ones are prone to a lot of breakage. Our primary schooling taught us to draw a straight line only. An un-ruled page would have lines drawn with them. The middle school introduced us to the world of geometry, which is a branch of mathematics. Mostly students find it interesting as it allows for graphical representation in an otherwise subject of only digits. We get our first geometry box which contains a regular ruler, a triangular ruler and other aids as a divider and compass to allow us to draw perfect circles. The steel ruler is probably the first professional possession which made us look serious as a student. It scored over the wooden one for its thinness and ease to carry. Overall, nobody out there can forget the nostalgic role that rulers played in their school days!
