  2. WHAT IS RASPBERRY PI? The Raspberry Pi is a series of small single-board computers (SBCs) designed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a UK-based charity organization. The first Raspberry Pi was released in February 2012, and since then, it has become a popular tool for students, hobbyists, and professionals for various applications. The Raspberry Pi board is a credit card-sized computer that can be connected to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to create a complete desktop computer. It is powered by a micro USB port and can be used with a variety of operating systems, including Linux-based ones like Raspbian and Ubuntu, as well as Windows 10 IoT Core.

  3. HARDWARE SPECIFICATIONS The Raspberry Pi comes in several models, with each one having different hardware specifications. The most recent model, the Raspberry Pi 4, has the following hardware specifications: • Broadcom BCM2711 quad-core Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC @ 1.5GHz • 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB LPDDR4-3200 SDRAM (depending on model) • 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz IEEE 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, BLE • Gigabit Ethernet • 2 USB 3.0 ports; 2 USB 2.0 ports. • Raspberry Pi standard 40 pin GPIO header (fully backwards compatible with previous boards) • 2 × micro-HDMI ports (up to 4kp60 supported) • 2-lane MIPI DSI display port • 2-lane MIPI CSI camera port • 4-pole stereo audio and composite video port • H.265 (4kp60 decode), H264 (1080p60 decode, 1080p30 encode) • OpenGL ES 3.0 graphics

  4. OPERATING SYSTEMS The Raspberry Pi supports various operating systems, including the following: • Raspbian: This is a Linux-based operating system that is specifically designed for the Raspberry Pi. It is the official operating system for the Raspberry Pi and comes with a range of pre-installed software, including the Chromium web browser, Python, and Scratch. • Ubuntu: The Ubuntu operating system can also be used on the Raspberry Pi. It is a popular operating system for developers and comes with a range of tools and applications pre-installed. • Windows 10 IoT Core: This is a version of Windows 10 that is specifically designed for the Internet of Things (IoT) devices like the Raspberry Pi. It comes with a range of tools and applications for building IoT projects.

  5. APPLICATIONS The Raspberry Pi can be used for various applications, including the following: • Home Automation: The Raspberry Pi can be used to build a home automation system that can control various aspects of your home, such as lighting, heating, and security. • Media Center: The Raspberry Pi can be used as a media center, with applications like Kodi and Plex allowing you to stream and play media files. • Retro Gaming: The Raspberry Pi can be used to build a retro gaming console, with emulators allowing you to play games from classic consoles like the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).
