Road Safety Points To Take Care In Snowfall

In winter there is lots of snow and ice. People have to go shopping for the Holidays, buy groceries and go visit their friends and family. This means that there will be a lot of vehicles on the road. And when you combine slippery roads with a lot of vehicles, you (potentially) get a lot of car accidents. If that happens, contact a Philadelphia car accident attorney Daniel S. 1. Road Safety Points To Take Care In Snowfall

  2. In winter there is lots of snow and ice. People have to go shopping for the Holidays, buy groceries and go visit their friends and family. This means that there will be a lot of vehicles on the road. And when you combine slippery roads with a lot of vehicles, you (potentially) get a lot of car accidents. Here are some tips that will help you drive and be safe during Winter.

  3. Drive Slowly When driving over the snow and ice, the most important thing is to have control over your vehicle. That being said, you should always watch the speed and be in control of the vehicle at all times. The faster you are going, the less control you have and the higher the chances of getting involved in a car accident.

  4. Keep A Safe Distance Another thing to keep in mind is that you need more time to accelerate but also more time to slow down. So if the roads are crowded with vehicles, keep a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front. Give yourself enough space to be able to slow down in case of an emergency.

  5. Do Not Stop One of the most common mistakes that people make during winter driving is coming to a complete stop. This could be dangerous for many different reasons: ● The vehicle behind you could hit you ● You may be unable to continue moving ● You may start sliding backwards (especially if you were driving uphill)

  6. Avoid Going Uphill If you can, avoid driving uphill. There is nothing worse than trying to get moving up a hill on an icy or snowy road. If you lose speed, you will be unable to continue moving forward and may end up causing a collision. If that happens, contact a Philadelphia car accident attorney Daniel S. Doyle at Dan Doyle Law Group and seek legal help.
