These performers are well known for their incredible vocal range and often include soul, hip-hop, jazz, and blues into their sets. But male singers have evolved throughout time as experts meld more contemporary sounds with vintage renditions to produce new perspectives on this genre. What Is R&B Music? African Americans inhabited cities like Detroit and Harlem during the 20th century, which is also where the American musical style known as "rhythm and blues" (R&B) had its start. Pop, gospel, blues, and jazz are all combined with unique vocal arrangements and production methods to create the genre known as R&B. Sadly, as he grew older, his musical career came to an abrupt end due to an alteration in his voice. He started playing the piano again after enrolling in the University of Michigan School for the Blind, and with the release of "Uptight," he cemented his reputation as "Stevie Wonder."
