Tragic Train Accident DSS Volunteers Step-In To Help Victims
Unfortunate Train Accident • Organizers celebrated Dussehra at Dhobi Ghat based on verbal permission from railway crossing guards in Amritsar • Thousands of people visited to see the fireworks as the effigy of Ravana is set on fire, celebrating the victory of good over evil. • And unfortunately the tragic train accident took place, killing more than 60 people.
A Tragedy that was waiting to happen • Dussehra organizers generally tell the guards at the crossing to take care of the trains by closing the gates after 5-10 minutes—enough time for organizers to ask the public to clear the tracks before the train passes. • When Ravana’s effigy was set on fire, the crowd spilled over to the tracks. Everybody was so engrossed in celebrations, music and in taking selfies that nobody cared about the train. • Unfortunately the train arrived at their time and more than 60 people were killed and half of people were injured.
DSS Volunteers donate blood for the Victims • Hundreds of Dera SachaSauda volunteers, visiting to donate blood and assist their fellow citizens, even from farfetched places. • Dera SachaSauda followers, referred to as premis, for their selfless acts, were known for frequent Blood donations, mass participation for cleanliness drives and plantation drives in North India earlier. • It has been a tradition at Dera SachaSauda, to commemorate every occasion, every celebration, by helping the needy and pitching in for every soul, unable to live a happy life.
DSS Volunteers were back to their calling and were soon visible • On every building collapse site, or fire fighting site, DSS Volunteers are doing rounds of Blood donation etc. • In a couple of months, all Dera SachaSaudaSirsaAshrams were buzzing with followers, Regular monthly checkup Camps were conducted, spiritual Naamcharchas held, every Sunday, where recordings of Gurmeet Ram Rahim SinghInsan’sSatsangs are played, and hymns of praises of Lord being sung and welfare activities routinely being carried on, with same passion in their respective States, cities etc.
Humanitarian Works by DSS Volunteers • They have been to Nepal, Orissa, Andaman and Nicobar, Bhuj, Uttarakhand and the very recent, Chennai and Kerala, assisting the flood victims, to share their dark hours of fear and despair. • They may be seen putting reflector belts on animals, feeding the birds, saving lives, by jumping in wells and pits, Carrying out rescue operation on disaster sites along with officials, in their striped dresses, with 'Shah SatnamJi Welfare Force Wing', engraved in, bright green Colour.
Humanitarian Drives • Conducting awareness rallies, about women empowerment, female foeticide etc, distributing groceries, toys, books etc to needy, constructing homes for homeless, filling pledges, conducting Tree Plantation drives, even on their wedding days. • Collective efforts of these humanitarian heroes, have harvested fruits, and thousands of lives have transformed with their drug de-addiction drives, anti dowry crusades, and most of all, giving equal share of happiness, to those, most neglected by the Society, like Prostitutes, Eunuchs, Mentally challenged etc.
