Globally, according to IBM, around 28% of the total jobs in 2020 were data science jobs. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says data science jobs are expected to grow by at least 19% by 2026. However, the current skill development rate for data science professionals stands at a slackened 14%. As of now, on an average, a data science job remains vacant for 45 days due to talent crunch. 4. THE CRITERIA ELIGIBILITY Ways to Become a CLDS™ The following are the specifics of what it takes to become a CLDS™. There are FOUR convenient paths covering Data Science professionals from diverse backgrounds and experience to earn a CLDS™! PATH 01 PATH 02 Required Minimum Mandatory Qualification Must have an Associate Degree or Diploma or equivalent in any academic discipline, preferably STEM, and willing to learn Data Science. Required minimum Qualification Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any academic discipline, preferably STEM, and willing to learn Data Science. Required Work Experience At least six years of experience in any programming language; however, proficiency in using Python/R/JAVA or equivalent is desirable. Required Work Experience At least two years of experience in any programming language or engineering/finance/management /statistics, etc. PATH 03 PATH 04 Required minimum Qualification Either completed or pursuing Master's Degree or equivalent in any academic discipline, preferably with STEM, and should be willing to learn Data Science. Required minimum Qualification Must have completed CDSP™ or other equivalent certification. Required Work Experience Work experience is not required; however, basic proficiency in any programming language or Engineering/Finance/Management/ Statistics, etc. is desirable.
