I know New Year is the perfect time to make resolutions and work on them and I am sure you made quite a few for yourselves (losing weight, eating healthy, exercise more etc.) but it didnu2019t come to your mind to make up some for your dog too (I bet you didnu2019t or we wouldnu2019t be having this conversation here). Well, I made a few. See if you agree.

I know New Year is the perfect time to make resolutions and work on them and I am sure you made quite a few for yourselves (losing weight, eating healthy, exercise more etc.) but it didn’t come to your mind to make up some for your dog too (I bet you didn’t or we wouldn’t be having this conversation here). Well, I made a few. See if you agree. Dogs need their daily dose of walk to stay happy and healthy, don’t deny them that. Schedule an annual or half-yearly checkup by the veterinarian to stay up to date on the vaccines. Take good care of your dog’s teeth (brushing, dental chews, supplements etc.) Mental exercises are as important as physical ones, give him interactive puzzle toys or some such toys to stay busy. I know you taught your dog to high five, but is that all? Check out the internet, you will find a bunch of cool tricks for your dog that will make you an instant hit in parties. Make hygiene a priority by checking for fleas/ticks, giving him regular baths, brushing his hair, hiring pet waste removal services to pick dog poop etc.
Lastly, improve the quality of his food. If possible, give him home cooked meal, if not, make sure the food doesn’t come with preservatives and fillers as they might cause health issues. The thing is, as the dogs get older with passing time, their needs change (so do yours, but this post is not about you) and you might need to re-organize your schedule concerning them. So, don’t worry if New Year is already a couple of months behind you. It's never too late to start something new. Our pets bring love and joy into our lives every day, it’s only fair that we start returning the favor. https://www.reddit.com/user/doocare/comments/b05wkh/petfriendly_resolutions_you_ca n_take_any_time_of/
