Mountains RDC ortho & LiDAR • Atlanta Regional Ortho & LiDAR • Future initiatives • Local Implementation of National Initiatives • USGS Science • Imagery for the Nation (IFTN) • Coordination and outreach
Coastal Ga. Elevation Initiative Coastal Area of Interest Defined by: NGA/DHS/USGS/CGRDC Input from State, local, OFA, NGOs, Non-profits Lead partners: • Coastal Ga. RC & Locals USGS FEMA NOAA Ga. DNR-CRD
Coastal Ga. Elevation Project (CGEP) • Consolidation of Partnerships by CGRDC • Specifications and Deliverables: • LAS Point cloud & Bare earth points • Digital elevation Model • Hydro Breaklines • NOAA CSC to handle contracting/vendors • Acquisition Time-Frame • Fall-Winter 2009-10, leaf-off season • Funding: • USGS Assistance award to Coastal RC • FEMA • Ga. DNR, Coastal Resources Division • State/local/other contributions • Contact: Chris Chalmers, CGRC
Georgia Mountains Elevation Project • Assistance Award to Ga. Mtns. RDC • LiDAR (and ortho-imagery) acquired in select N. Ga. counties during late winter 2009. • Primarily ‘FEMA Compliant’ • 18.5 cm, 1.4m post spacing • Suitable for 2 ft. contours in most areas (somewhat less accurate in forested areas) • Delivery expected late summer / fall 2009.
Atlanta Regional Ortho/LiDAR • Assistance Award to ARC, 25% USGS contribution • Majority of funds from local sources • ARC to release RFP in early Nov. 2009 • Elevation (liDAR) suitable for 2 ft. contours (min), 18.5cm, 0.5ppm, hydro breaks • Ortho Imagery, 6 in. color • Originally targeting 20-county area. • Final footprint now 8-9 counties. • Acquisition: Winter 2009-10 Contact: • Tim McGuire, ARC • Keith McFadden, USGS
Lake Lanier task area proposal. • 6 in. Ortho & LiDAR • COE & USGS ARRA interagency funding • GPSC (likely)
