Who we are We are the most significant manufacturer of mechanical gearboxes in the region of Central and Eastern Europe and manufacturer of advanced wind turbines Wikov has been active in the field of mechanical engineering for more than 125 years. For more than 80 years, we have been a traditional manufacturer of gear wheels and mechanical gearboxes. We develop and produce innovative advanced 2MW wind turbines with unique technical solution. History of the Wikov brand 1878 Wichterle-Procházka company began with the production of simple agricultural machines and tools 1913 František Wichterle´s company employed 1050 workers 1918 Wichterle-Kovářík machinery works, WIKOV in the abbreviation,was founded with 2150 employees Production: threshing machines, ploughs, diggers, portable steam engines, engines, generators 1922 custom-made automobile production 1946 nationalization, change in name to Agrozet, k.p., later to Agrostroj Prostějov st.p. 2004 restoration of the Wikov brand – change in the name of ČKD Hronov to Wikov MGI a.s. 2006 the Wikov holding unified 4 companies under the Wikov brand and name 2007 Wikov Industry holds shares in 6 companies
