What is Vaginismus Vaginismus is a condition in which Vagina will squeeze or spasm when try to enter something to it. This will result in a uncomfortable or painful sexual intercourse. Most of the cases Vaginismus happens because of fear and anxiety about sex. Vaginismus is classified into 2 categories • Primary vaginismus : when vaginal penetration has never been achieved • Secondary vaginismus : when vaginal penetration was once achieved, but is no longer possible. This may be due to factors such as gynecologic surgery or radiation
Vaginismus Treatment Unlike other female sexual problems vaginismus have high success rates. Medicines are effective for vaginismus if there are any causes like infection or inflammation. In majority of the cases cause will be the fear and anxiety in such situation medicines will not help. Sex therapy is an effective method for treating Vaginismus which happens due to fear or anxiety.
