They take a leading role in patient management and assessment. Although each radiologist assistant's responsibilities will vary, a few of the procedures include assisting radiologists with invasive procedures, performing fluoroscopy for noninvasive procedures under direct supervision of the radiologist, placing nasoenteric and oroenteric feeding tubes in uncomplicated patients, and performing selected peripheral venous diagnostic procedures. Requirements: 1) Must pass the Registered Radiologist Assistant examination by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. 2) Must be at least 18 years of age. 3) Must complete a criminal background check. 4) Must provide the names and signatures of the supervising and alternate supervising radiation practitioners licensed to practice in the State of Arkansas who agree to supervision of the Radiologist Assistant or the Radiology Practitioner Assistant. 5) Must provide a practice-specific document delineating the specific procedures and tasks to be performed by the Radiologist Assistant or the Radiology Practitioner Assistant in each facility utilized, including the level of supervision to be provided by the supervision licensed radiation practitioners.
