EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in law enforcement or a law enforcement related field, supplemented by three years of experience in law enforcement telecommunications. Additional experience in law enforcement telecommunications will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Contact the regulatory agency for applications. Examination scheduled as vacancies occur. General knowledge test, with oral interview and classroom presentation, using comparative ratings. No examination fee. Retake of examination not applicable. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION There are no minimum age requirements. Must be in excellent physical and mental condition, and within acceptable weight limits. Must be of high moral character and have no criminal arrest / conviction record. Traffic violations will be evaluated. Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience as a police officer, judiciary or related criminal justice experience or expertise. Teaching experience in the area of judiciary, law enforcement, or related fields will be evaluated, as well as specialized training received in areas to be certified.
