  2. PRP – Vampire facelift • Platelet Rich Plasma therapy is referred to as Vampire Facelift as it involves extracting platelets from the blood of the patient and re-injecting them in areas they are required. The procedure starts with taking a minimal amount of blood from the patient. This blood is placed in a centrifuge and the spinning and causes the red blood cells to separate from the platelet-rich plasma. Platelets, a component of human blood known to be extremely effective when it comes to treating skin injuries and burns, are then re-injected in the problem area. This causes the skin to plump up, reducing the appearance of any wrinkles and fine lines. Injecting the platelet-rich plasma into the required areas causes the growth factors in the platelets to get released. They plump up surrounding cells in the area which increases their volume. The platelets injection sends signals to other body cells to rush to the injection area. One type of cell stimulated by the platelets is fibroblast. This cell is known to stimulate the growth of collagen. Collagen is the protein found in the skin which gives it a youthful appearance. As we grow older, the production of collagen decreases which causes the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. For this reason, treatments that stimulate collagen growth can help counteract the effect of ageing. The pre-adipocyte cell is another cell type stimulated during PRP therapy. This cell helps to contour and fill out any lines in the face by converting into a fat cell. • • •

  3. Microblading – A Technique For Perfect Brows • What is Microblading? – Microblading is a semi-permanent solution for fuller and perfect eyebrows. It is done using a handheld tool made up of very fine needles that create hair- like strokes using special pigmentation that is administered under and above the skin in shape of fine lines. It is similar to getting a cosmetic tattoo. Procedure of Microblading – The process of microblading is very simple. Consult a laser clinic, this is the best place to get a technician for microblading, as they are licensed and have a good experience. Next, visit the office; get an allergy test run before going for the procedure. A brow expert draws few strokes to ensure there are no allergy reactions and then they call you back after a week. The procedure starts by numbing your skin and creating hair-like strokes. The process can last for an hour, depending on how much filling is needed. Gently wipe the treated area with distilled water using cotton pads followed by aftercare cream. Some side effects associated with microblading are redness, dryness, scabbing, and swelling. – Microblading can take about a month to heal completely. However, the skin might appear to be perfect, but the skin can still be sensitive so avoid rubbing the area until it is completely restored. A touchup might be required in few months. Microblading can cost around $500 to $1,700. •

  4. Lip Injections – Are You Ready For Perfect Pout? • What are Lip Injections/ Lip Fillers? – Lip injections or better known as lip fillers are used to make lips look fuller and smoother. The purpose is to add volume to thin lips and enhance the borderline, which is lost due to ageing. As we age, our skin loses its collagen resulting in fine lines, wrinkles, thinner lips, and flattening of facial shapes. Most of the fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which is naturally found in human body. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved dermal fillers to be safe and free from any infection and allergy. Choose The Right Filler – There are many lip fillers available in the market, produced by different companies. Most of the fillers contain hyaluronic acid and are FDA approved. However, ask your dermatologist or laser expert, which one suits you the best. The best lip filler brands are Juvederm and Restylane. There are many success stories about these brands and are strongly recommended by the doctors. Lip Injections – A Perfect Pout – Lips fillers are safe and are not associated with any major risks. You can get your dreamy lips with the help of these lip fillers. Another important benefit is lip fillers are affordable, you do not have to spend a huge amount of dollars, unlike other cosmetic procedures. Consult a reputable laser clinic to book your appointment. • •

  5. Sun/Age Spot Removal (Photo facial) • How does a photo facial work? – A photo facial works by delivering various wavelengths of light, targeting specific conditions, to the epidermis. Wavelengths of light that can be harmful are blocked using filters. When the light is penetrated by the skin, it causes constriction of the blood vessels and collagen below the epidermis- reducing dark spots, sun damage, age spots and redness. The light is absorbed by the pigment imperfections and they move up and out of the skin. The sun/age spots flake off leaving the skin radiant and flawless. Is the treatment painful? – Photo facial is not exactly a painful procedure. However, some people may find it fairly uncomfortable. Patients might experience a sensation similar to a rubber band snapping on their skin during the process. The light emitted from the laser may be bothersome for people with light sensitivity. How long is the treatment? – The duration of the photo facial depends on how many areas are being treated and how many times the aesthetician may have to go over the area. Generally, a photo facial may take about 45 minutes on the face. For the best results, three to five treatments (around four weeks apart) are generally recommended. • •
