  9. Around ec2005 Poitiers Poitou Charentes : a land of many flavours To fill his plate, GUS had drawned from soil with multiple savours to work out a simple gastronomy, little marvels of the table. With vegetables and grasses, he had made the famous Farci Poitevin but also the Angelique Confite. From goat milk, the famous goat cheeses, Chabichou at the head but also a dessert which acquired a national notoriety: the Tourteau Fromager. Beyond the products of the soil: melons or of the vineyard Cognac, Pineau, the gastronomy of Poitou Charentes is also the products of the sea: Marennes Oléron oysters, Bouchot Mussels and at least very local specificities like the salt and the potatoes of the Ile de Ré. French Gastronomy So Good !
