  5. Boolean Operators • Boolean Operators connect keywords only • Must be placedbetween keywords • AND • Narrows your search • OR • Expands your search with synonymous terms • NOT • Excludes words from your search • If used too much, it can work against you!

Tagging • A tag is a keyword associated with a piece of information (e.g., a picture, map, blog entry, video clip, etc.), describing the item for a keyword-based classification system with searchable functionality (like a bookmark). • YouTube includes tags, the concept of tagging is a referral to what libraries have been doing years before the Internet went public (concept of subject searching)
