I n Europe today, the life sciences sector is full of new ideas and advancements, blending cutting-edge research with exciting technology. With top-notch universities, innovative research centers, and lively biotech hubs, Europe is a prime spot for scientific exploration and development. From game-changing discoveries in genetics and personalized medicine to improvements in farming technology and eco-friendly practices, Europe's life sciences industry keeps moving forward with energy and creativity. At DC4U, we priori?ze regulatory compliance by maintaining close communica?on with regulatory authori?es, inves?ng in regulatory exper?se and self-studying new regulatory proposals on a European and even worldwide basis. In the midst of all this innovation is Zdenek Pibr, the CEO of DC4U, a tech company that's all about helping out in the life sciences world. Using DC4U's know-how in handling data, doing smart analysis, and keeping things secure, Pibr and his team assist scientists, doctors, and businesses all across Europe. Whether they're boosting drug research, making healthcare systems work better, or pushing forward in farming tech, DC4U's clever solutions are key in driving the life sciences industry to even greater success. to build our own computer and I was trapped. The first key milestones in my professional journey are projecting and building one of the most modern and biggest datacenters (DC) in middle Europe embarked by my previous employer within 2013-2016. The other and our own (DC4U) milestones are the projects of datacenters for the healthcare industry (i.e. AKESO Holding), automotive (i.e. SKODA Auto) and telecommunication sector (i.e. CRA). For healthcare, we projected the most reliable TIER IV DC according to UPTIME Institute (world most authority in DC standardization), even with the certification as the first in our region. For automotive we help to improve and operate the brain of automobiles production in the most productive factories in Czech and for telecommunication operator we're designing the biggest DC in Czech and one of the biggest DC in our region. So, let's take a closer look at Pibr's smart leadership and how DC4U is making a big difference in shaping the future of life sciences in Europe! Can you brief us a bit about your background and how you came to be the CEO of DC4U? I have a background in IT and economics thanks to the universities I passed, and work experience I have gotten in my jobs and even from many customers and colleagues I have met. My journey to becoming the CEO of DC4U started in 2017, when I left my previous job, where I took care of datacenters. Me and my colleague Vaclav Materka emerged a company DC4U (datacenters for you), which started to serve our very first customers in automotive and telecommunication industry. Thanks to my natural qualities I took the role of business leader, and my partner took the role of technical leader. As the head of ICT company, what do you see as the biggest opportunities and challenges facing industry in Europe right now? The ICT technology sector in Europe presents significant opportunities, particularly in areas such as datacenter and AI which are among the most developing sectors worldwide. However, it also faces challenges of decarbonization and energy efficiency all over the world and building permissions according to legislation specifically in the Czech Republic. Navigating these challenges while capitalizing on opportunities requires innovation, cooperation with universities and adopting new technologies and trends. What inspired you to pursue a career in the life sciences/ICT industry? Can you share some of the key milestones in your professional journey that led you to your current role? My inspiration for a career in the ICT sector came from my hobby as it usually is. When I was young, I liked to play computer games and it was about the middle ninetieth. In those days there was no useful internet for common people and games, even IT technology wasn't easy to get (not only because of the prices). So, the way was to understand how April 2024 www.eurohealthleaders.com 23

What advice would you offer to aspiring leaders who are interested in pursuing a career in the life sciences industry? What skills or qualities do you believe are essential for success in this dynamic field? How does DC4U engage with the broader ecosystem of researchers, clinicians, and industry partners? For aspiring leaders looking to build a career in the ICT technology sector, I would recommend building a strong foundation in technical knowledge while also developing leadership and strategic thinking skills. It's important to have a passion for continuous development and learning as the ICT technology sector is highly dynamic and constantly evolving. Additionally, developing communication and collaboration skills is crucial as success in this industry often depends on the ability to effectively collaborate with a team of experts from various fields. Finally, it's important to have determination, resilience, and the ability to adapt to change as the path to success may be challenging but also very rewarding. DC4U engages with the broader ecosystem by emerging new partnerships with well-known, even pioneering, companies across industries (i.e. DC and ICT, healthcare, automotive, space). These collaborations help us stay at the forefront of technological advancements and bring our services to market more effectively. How does DC4U navigate the complex regulatory landscape, and what advice would you offer to other companies looking to expand their operations in Europe? Navigating the complex regulatory landscape in Europe requires a thorough understanding of regulations and compliance requirements. At DC4U, we prioritize regulatory compliance by maintaining close communication with regulatory authorities, investing in regulatory expertise and self-studying new regulatory proposals on a European and even worldwide basis. My advice to other companies looking to expand their operations in Europe is to prioritize regulatory compliance from the outset and seek expert guidance when needed. Looking ahead, what are some of the key focus areas or new initiatives that DC4U is exploring to drive the company's continued growth and impact in the life sciences sector? For the future, we are focusing on several key areas and new initiatives to strengthen our company's sustained growth and impact in the ICT technology sector.
