A B O U T A B O U T T H E PROJECT PROJECT T H E This program is designed for those who love adventure, teamwork, and the great outdoors. Over 10 days, you’ll participate in exciting hiking expeditions that challenge your physical and mental limits while fostering a deep sense of community. As you navigate Armenia’s majestic mountains and scenic trails, you’ll learn the importance of collaboration and the power of working together. This youth exchange is more than just a hiking trip—it’s a journey of personal and collective growth. If you’re physically fit, passionate about nature, and eager to make new friends from different cultures, this project is for you!
Topic Topic Objectives Objectives Nature Connection: Foster a deeper connection between youth and nature through hiking activities, encouraging appreciation for the environment and promoting sustainable practices. To enhance the well- being and preparedness of youth through engaging activities in nature and practical skills development. Being Ready for Emergencies: Young people will learn how to handle tough situations confidently and make good decisions quickly. First Aid Skills: Provide first aid lessons to empower youth with life- saving skills, ensuring they can respond effectively to emergencies and contribute positively to their communities. Physical and Mental Resilience: Through outdoor activities, we aim to make youth physically fit, mentally strong, and more independent. Orientation and Navigation Skills: Enhance the ability of youth to navigate different environments.
Participant profile Participant profile Youth leaders 18-25 years old Gender balance is very important Inclusion: No discrimination on the basis of gender, origin, religion, political opinion or sexual orientation. Inclusion of young people with disabilities, especially those who face geographical and financial challenges as well as social barriers. Physical requirements: Participants should be in good physical shape. Participants must be able to communicate and express themselves in English Highly motivated to participate in the Youth Exchange theme presented in the application. Participants are united by a desire to learn about the environment, to gain new experiences, to be prepared for any situation, to make their environment better Participants must be willing to use the skills learnt in their future youth work Responsible, motivated and open to new experiences and learning opportunities Proactive and positive Ability to attend the whole project

THE ITINERARY & THE ITINERARY & TRIP ESSENTIALS TRIP ESSENTIALS 1. You can arrive either to Yerevan, Gyumri or Tbilisi. From Georgia and Gyumri is possible to arrive directly to the venue. Confirm tickets with us before purchasing. In case you arrive to Tbilisi or Gyumri we will arrange transportation depending on the number of participants. The price per person one way is around 12000AMD/30EUR. 2. In case you arrive to Yerevan there is a shuttle bus from the airport to Republic Square every hour (the price per person is 300AMD/0.60EUR). Depending on your travel plans and common agreement we will arrange a bus from the Republic Square which will take you to the venue and the price will be divided between the participants (around 5 EUR one way). 3. Please note that we do not have very good public transportation connections to that location, so the only way to get there will stay a taxi (around 15EUR per cab).
VENUE VENUE AND ACCOMMODATION AND ACCOMMODATION Venue Abovyan. Itis a town and urban municipal community in Armenia within the Kotayk Province. Itis located 16 kilometers northeast of Yerevan and is considered to be a satellite city ofthe Armenian capital. Therefore, Abovyan is generally known as the "Northern gate of Yerevan".
Accommodation Accommodation During the project we will live in a Hin Parvana Hotel. The rooms will be shared between 2-4 participants. The rooms have either twin or double beds, individual bathrooms. Bed linen and towels (one towel per person) are provided. We will be provided with breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 coffee breaks. The wateris drinkable from the tap.
Important Important additions additions The accommodation, 3 times meals and coffee breaks are 100% covered by Erasmus+ program regulations between 4th (check in after 15:00) and 13th (check out before 12:00) of October 2024. Breakfast, lunch and dinner with 2 coffee breaks will be provided. Please note, that it is another culture, so try to adapt and except the challenge. It is very important to tell us if you have any allergies or if there is something that you do not eat, if you are vegetarian or vegan, have a diet, etc. There is Wi-Fi at the venue, thus we cannot be responsible for the speed. All the participants should understand clearly, that they are here for the youth exchange and not for the virtual life.
If any participant wants to stay longer in Armenia, this is possible up to 2 days before or 2 days after the mobility. Still, all costs related to the extra days (food, accommodation, trips, local transportation or other type of costs which were not made for the project) must be covered by the participants themselves. Please pay attention to the check in and check out times while making your travel plans. Do not purchase anything before confirmation. Do not come later than 21:00 on the arrival day. Tips for Tips for Traveling Traveling Do not exchange lots of money at the airport. The rate is low there. Do not take airport taxis. For Armenia you can download GG application instead and order one or contact us to help you. Be sure that you do have your health insurance for the period of the project for the emergency needs.
Things to Things to Bring Bring Valid passport for travel; Travel/health insurance, valid in Armenia forthe whole duration ofthe project (desirable, but not mandatory – it's on your own responsibility); Allthe required travel documents (allthe tickets, invoices and boarding passes (preferably,the online check- in)); Something specialto share during the intercultural evening (national food and drinks, dresses, flags); Comfortable shoes, outdoorlight clothes and backpacks, warm clothes (it might be hot during the daytime and chilly in the evenings); Swimming suit, flip flops, sunglasses, caps and UV cream; Personal hygiene items; The medicine you may need.
REIMBURSEMENT REIMBURSEMENT Reimbursement will be done via bank transfer after the receipt of all travel documents and dissemination activities. The selected participants choose flight connections and send them to us or via the partners for confirmation. Please don’t book any tickets without our confirmation! Only the cheapest tickets will be reimbursed. We will not cover tickets with the deviation from the direct route, extra unnecessary stops and layovers. We don’t cover seat reservation fees, leisure plus tickets, flexible tariff tickets, extra travel insurances. Only hand luggage will be covered! Only tickets purchased online will be reimbursed. We can’t cover travel agencies’ fees. Travel agencies invoices for the flight tickets won’t be accepted for reimbursement. We can’t reimburse taxi or private cars, only public transport will be covered. Participants will sign at the end of their mobility a participant statement and the participants’ list. A participant aborting the mobility earlier/not participating at least 80% of the mobility will cover all the costs themselves and no reimbursement will be realized. Also, at the end of the mobility, each participant must fill in the individual report, on Mobility tool website in maximum 7 days after the mobility ends, according to Erasmus+ rules.
