Study Schedule • Initially, plan two hours of study time for each hour of class time. • Schedule regular study times. • Plan at least one hour blocks of study time. • Reward yourself for using study time effectively. (Your reward system won’t work if you “cheat”).
Study Schedule continued… • Try to schedule study periods before and after classes. • Work on your most difficult subjects at the times you are most alert. • Balance your activities. • Keep your schedule flexible.
TEXT BOOK READING &NOTE TAKING • Read or skim the text before class. • Go early and stay late. • Sit close to the instructor. • Don’t try to write everything down. • Use a separate binder for each subject. • Use abbreviations.

LEARNING TECHNIQUES • Flash cards • Acronyms - a word (as NATO, radar, or laser) formed from the initial letter or letters of each of the successive parts or major parts of a compound term. • Acrostics - short verse composition, so constructed that the initial letters of the lines, taken consecutively, form words. • Recite and Repeat • Rhymes and Music
