  1. FHA Loan Limits FHA Loan limits varies depending upon number of units in the property and its location. 'Floor' And 'Ceiling' Limits The 'floor' limit of FHA Loans is the loan limit allowed for borrowers purchasing a property in areas having low housing cost. FHA 'ceiling'  is the maximum loan amount that can be borrowed in places where the cost of housing is higher. How Are These Limits Decided? If a property falls under a county, the limit is decided by the county. If the property is located in a metropolitan statistical area, the limits are set using the county with highest median housing cost within the metropolitan statistical area.
