Correct the spelling mistakes • It may be possible that you make repeated mistakes with spellings of some of the words, if that is the case then I would suggest you write those words down few times till the spelling of the words gets cleared in your mind. Because writing wrong spellings is not going to help you score well.

  6. Do practice tests on the Computer • Since the PTE is a computer-based test, it is advisable that you take the mock test on the computer that just doing some practice materials from a book. It is very essential that you have a good idea and practice of the exam setting and pattern and get enough practice to be ready for the exam day.

  7. Correct the spelling mistakes • For the majority of Indians, it is a reality that they do not have an English speaking atmosphere either at home or in the workplace except for very official dealings. So, if that is the case with you my suggestion would be to make friends with someone, in your immediate surrounding or online, who speaks only in good English, or you could just join a group which insists on speaking English so that your grasp of the language in terms of understanding and speaking improves.

  8. Read as much as you can • It goes without saying, to be good at any language reading is the best tool you have, especially when there is no other support. It is a great way to learn the nuances of the language as well as to learn the correct usage of the words in context in addition to knowing their spellings. So, develop a habit of reading, you definitely will not regret.

  9. Do typing of essays on computer • As you know, PTE test also consists of essay writing, and it is essential to know the correct way to write an essay as well as write in within the time limit. So, typing out essays will be very important to improve your speed and to make sure you are able to complete within time limit especially if you are not fast at typing.

  10. Have dedicated time for practice & study • This goes without saying, that you should have dedicated time for studies to prepare for the PTE exam. Even if it is not that tough an exam if your language skills are good, the format may take you by surprise. So give it time, regular time, to be able to ace it at the right time.

  11. Learn the set of Colocation words • In PTE reading section, there is a question type that has filled in the blanks types of the question with options. To fill these blanks you need to know the accurate use of vocabulary as well as the common association of the words as some words usually go together for example, ‘large sums’ of money. So here, ‘large sums,’ is a colocation word set. Therefore, you need to have a good idea about colocation words. If you do not have much idea, no worries; there is a list of colocation words on the PTE website, just study it and you should be ready.

  12. Take assessed practice test on the PTE website • Try to take assessed tests on the PTE website. Though it is a paid test, (costing approx. Rs 2,000), it will give you quite accurate assessment of how you would perform on the test as well as the report about the areas you need to work on. It will help you focus your efforts in the right areas to improve your performance. Source:- http://global-studyinuk.blogspot.com/
