  2. Janani Surakha Yojna Vision • To Promote Institutional Deliveries. • To reduce overall Maternal Mortality ratio and Infant Mortality Rate.

  3. Janani Surakha Yojna Target Beneficiaries • Pregnant Woman of all sections of the society. • No Age bar. • Irrespective of Birth order. • In Rural and Urban areas.

  4. Janani Surakha Yojna Strategy • Early Registration at AWC/SC (MCHN days) • Provision of 3 ANC & 2 PNC • Early identification of complicated case • Arrange Referral Transport & Escort her • Role of ASHA Sahyogini

  5. Package for Mother/ASHA Sahyogini • Rs. 600 includes money for Referral Transport • Mother gets payment at the institution itself on the same day. • A-S gets payment from the ANM at MCHN site.

  6. JSY.. Progress Physical • From 84 Registrations in 2005 to more than 30,000 till July 2006 . • 14049 Beneficiaries provided cash assistance. Financial 5.23 Crore allocated in state PIP. 3.37 Crore released as I installment.

  7. JSY Obstetric Helpline • A new initiative taken - Joint Venture of GoR, Unicef, and Manglam Seva Samiti in Badi block of Dholpur District. • A Helpline in one block of every district to be started soon. • Toll Free Phones would be put up at each Helpline (CHC)

  8. Issues and Concerns • Funds released from state to every Institution • SC/PHC/CHC/DH/Medical Colleges • Districts asked to send fund requirements for distributing retrospective benefits since 1.04.06. None received. • Capacity Building at all level to understand the concept • SOEs/UCs do not reach in time and hence further releases affected.
