GAL Power, who have over 30 years of experience providing generator, cooling, and power solutions, outlines how they had to provide temporary cooling for a 13-story office tower in Waterloo that spanned 115,00 square feet. <br>The building's chiller failed, so we were faced with a large-scale technical job that needed to be resolved as soon as possible. GAL deployed 160 feet of piping from a ground mounted temporary 400-ton chiller and completed a power tie-in so that the building’s cooling was restored. SCOPE OF WORK –TEMPORARY COOLING OFFICE TOWER • High profile, 13 story, 115,000 square foot office tower in Waterloo • The existing chiller was due for replacement, however, the building owner delayed replacement and was working with an engineer to develop a replacement package • As summer approached, the chiller failed. SOLUTION • We provided technical support to determine load requirements, layout, power requirements and power source • About 160 feet of piping was deployed from a ground mounted temporary 400 Ton Chiller • Power tie in was completed at the main electrical room to the main chiller service and the building cooling system was restored Knowledge is Power….
