Gary Kapanowski Intel's Unveiling of New Diversity Program
Accomplished Accountant Besides being an accomplished Accountant who has worked for some of the top government agencies in the country, Gary Kapanowski is a champion of equal rights, especially for women making the same pay within the workplace as men. He was excited to see one giant step forward occurring while attending the 2015 CES trade show in Las Vegas. Intel announced the start of a new $300 million diversity program at the recent CES.
This program includes more than just money; the company will incorporate many diversity processes to insure transparency throughout the organization. Gary Kapanowski believes that programs, such as an all-female gaming team and a 14% increase in minority employment, are positive signs of change
International CES in Las Vegas is one of the largest tech show in the US, with 170,000 attendees and 3,600 exhibitors in 2015. CES is brassy, brimming with swaggering startups, the hyperbole of hopeful marketing, stunning bright lights and gigantic TV screens. Some of the world's biggest tech companies showcase their newest creations, including Intel, PlayStation, T-Mobile and many more.
Intel's new program is an exciting step,” said Gary Kapanowski. “By placing definable metrics, the organization can track the success of the program.” This is a first mover’s advantage for Intel. Due to the large selection of qualified minorities and women workers that exist in the tech industry, Intel will have the opportunity to select the best employees available.
Thus, Intel will be first company to venture into this new domain and it will serve as the learning curve, allowing them to connect with their customers more directly. Gary Kapanowski feels that this program will produce new products and services, and will also eliminate waste. By incorporating a diversity program, the company will better connect with its customers, produce better product and utilize its resources better to produce profits.
