PE Grading System • 1. Psychomotor – Physical (60% Total) • President’s Physical Fitness Testing (10%) • Pre-test grade based on pre-established breakdown • Post-test grade based on improvement • Skills Assessment/ Testing from various units (20%) • Participation based on pre-established rubric (30%) • Bonus points will be added in to Psychomotor component of grade. • For example, Bob earned 10/0 bonus points. • Zero was expected; Bob exceeded the minimum requirements. • Bonus points will be given to any student who demonstrates • extraordinary behavior, attitude, sportsmanship, or effort • at the teacher’s discretion.
PE Grading System • 2. Cognitive/ Written Assessment (20% Total) • Worksheets/ Reflections • Tests/ Quizzes
PE Grading System • 3. Affective (20% Total) • Preparation is 10% of total Physical Education grade. • Every student begins with 100. • Every “unprepared without participation” is (-10). • Every “unprepared with participation” is (-5). • Peer Interaction based on pre-established rubric. (10%) • Adherence to Full Value Contract • Attitude and Effort You do not have to be athletically inclined to earn an “A.”
General Expectations A Physical Education Folder is needed for each student. I keep them! It is the student’s responsibility to keep their folder in order so that in preparing for a quiz or test they will have a complete study tool. Final is cumulative! Students are expected to follow the “3-Rs” RESPECT for self RESPECT for others RESPONSIBILITY for actions Students are expected to implement . . . The Full Value Contract (see attachment in packet) Play hard, play fair, play safe Students are expected to change EVERYDAY . . . no matter what the case may be. This way you can earn your daily preparation credit. Students are responsible for any work missed. Excessive absences will result in after school make-ups/ written assignments.
