Host-controlled timeouts • Confirm Access – set a time limit for the Host user to accept the session. • Authentication – limit the time a Guest has to enter logon details. • Inactivity – limit the time a NetOp session runs without any activity from the Guest user. This includes keyboard and mouse traffic, file transfer and chat. • If the time limitsare exceeded, the connection is terminated.

XML configuration • Host configuration saved in XML file • The Windows CE, Linux and Solaris Hosts reads their configuration from an XML file. • Configuration program is available for Windows (XP, 2000,..), Linux and Solaris platforms. • The XML file is protected by a checksum that prevents unauthorized manipulation of the data.

File transfer • Local mode File Manager • Launch the File Manager in local mode with the split-screen interface displaying the Guest files and folders in both panes • Allows the Guest user to work with accessible files and folders and utilize the strong features of the File Manager. • Switch to local mode and back to remote mode during a File Manager session with a Host

Message box • Send popup message box • The Guest user now has a tool to edit and send messages in RTF to one or more Windows Host PCs. • The messages will pop up on the Host screen and can contain text using different fonts, styles, sizes and colors and even include links for e.g. web pages or e-mail addresses. • The messages can be saved on both Guest and Host for later use.

  33. Phonebook • Automatically saves last view • The phonebook layout is now saved and restored every time the Guest module is loaded and unloaded. • This includes the column widths and the sorting order.

  34. Browse list • Improved integration with Phonebook • Mark one or more Host entries in Browse list and right clicking to copy the entries to a specific Phonebook folder • Uses a tree view dialog box to select the destination • Automatically copies the current user name to the Comment field

  35. External application • Launch an application from a Phonebook file • Define and call an external application like e.g. Telnet from a phonebook file and use the Name field as argument for the address.

  36. Request help • Send Request help from the command line • This feature allows external applications to activate the Request help from a command line and include Help provide name, address and the description text. • Useful for generating alarms to e.g. a Network Management or Helpdesk Center

Session toolbar • Enhanced toolbar with Run program and Execute command • The toolbar has been updated with icons for Run program and Execute command to become activated during a remote control session. • The new features Send Message and Inventory are also included.
